Blueprint 02 / 04
One voice, every postcode
A national franchise, a different half-built site in every region. The message drifted with every location. Here is the hub and spoke drawing that holds it together.
01 · The situation
Where it started.
A franchise network grew the way franchises grow. One location at a time, each with its own operator, its own market, and eventually its own website.
Some sites were good. Most were half-built. A few said things head office had stopped saying years ago. Every region sounded like a slightly different company.
Customers noticed, even if they could not name it. The brand felt strong in one town and thin in the next.
02 · The message problem
Why it could not be heard.
A franchise sells the same promise everywhere. That is the whole point of the model. But the promise only holds if it sounds the same in every postcode.
When each location writes its own story, the message drifts. Not through bad intent. Through distance. Every retelling moves a little further from the original.
Fixing one site at a time does not help. The drift is structural, so the fix has to be structural.
03 · The architecture
The structural move.
The move is drawn above. At the centre sits one voice, held and maintained in one place. What the brand says, how it says it, and what it never says. Written once, owned centrally.
Each location gets its own mini-site and asset kit, built from that centre. Local pages, local photos, local details. The spokes carry the voice outward without rewriting it.
New location? A new spoke comes off the same hub. The network grows and the message does not thin out. That is local presence at scale.
04 · What changes
The result of the drawing.
- Every location has a real local presence, not a page buried on the national site.
- The brand sounds like one company in every region, because one voice feeds every spoke.
- A new location launches with a full kit on day one instead of a blank page.
- Head office stops policing rogue websites, because there is nothing to go rogue.
The spokes carry the voice. The hub keeps it true.
